Keph Sherin has been teaching exercise for 16 years, and is a certified personal trainer, group exercise instructor, Qigong, Neigong, and Pilates/yoga instructor. He has studied ballet, contemporary dance, breakdancing, gymnastics, hand-balancing, contortion, and aerial acrobatics. Keph has danced for the aerial acrobatic company A-WOL Dance Collective, trained with Yuval Ayalon of Cirque Le Reve Las Vegas, performed with Night Flight aerial dance company, and trained with Acrobat/Hand-balancer Nicolo Kerwald of Do Jump.
Keph is also well trained in other fitness areas including, but not limited to, bodybuilding, weight machines, free weights, physical therapy, myofascial rolling, acrobatics, and sports-specific training (plyometrics etc.).
Despite his background in more intense exercise arenas, Keph’s teaching style has evolved to become more of a “less is more” approach to exercise. Now Keph utilizes awareness through movement to let go of negative tension patterns that sabotage the natural integration the body needs for healthy movement and functionality. Keph teaches that misconception that exercise needs to be forced, or contrived is toxic. For too long people have been hearing instructors’ cues and simply doing them without any awareness of how the movement actually occurred, or whether the way in which they executed the movement was the most efficient and healthy way for their body or not. But by teaching others to utilize their own awareness tools, Keph allows his students to discover their blind spots through a natural, gentle, and unforced discovery process of movement.
