Class Descriptions

Pilates/Yoga Stretch - All Levels

Yoga and pilates are made for each other! Traditional Pilates exercises will be mixed with the deep stretches and strengthening poses from yoga. This class is ideal for Pilates lovers who want relief from chronic pain in their hamstrings, hips, back and shoulders.

Exhale Pilates - All Levels

All - Feeling overwhelmed and run down? Experience the power of breath while opening the body through passive and resistive stretching. You will find your body slowly unwinding and lengthening while building core integration. You will feel relaxed and revitalized by the end of class.

Gentle Pilates - Level 1

Beginner/All - For anybody who wants to start a low impact exercise regime, this class will help with chronic pain and aches while discovering freer movements. Rotation and length of the spine will be emphasized. Great for absolute beginners!

Core Pilates - Level 2

Beginner/Intermediate - Learn the core foundations of pilates. This class is structured for those who are interested in refining their movement. The emphasis will be on properly engaging the core muscles for greater stability and improving postural realignment. This can be an eye opening class that you will feel is working right away.

Abs, Thighs, and Gluteus - Level 3

Intermediate - A class that targets sculpting the lower body systematically using the pilates repertoire. Reshape your waistline, contour your legs, and gain a firmer rear all in one intense mat workout. Be ready to feel a burn!

Power Pilates - Level 4

Advanced - This class is designed for ongoing pilates students and athletes who want a real mind/body challenge. We will work on the efficiency of muscles, balance, and focus. Every exercise will work towards muscle fatigue to build endurance. This is a flowing series of slow methodical exercises to fast dynamic movements. Expect to sweat and be open to try new things.

Forrest Yoga Series - All Levels

All - Created by Ana Forrest over the past 30 years, this method is now codefied and taught worldwide by Ana and her teachers. Forrest Yoga is about "Embodying Spirit" and working free from that which drains your energy, both physically and emotionally. It focuses on breath awareness, core strengthening and intense pose sequences to help students go deeper within themselves. It uses mild heat (80 degrees) and longer holds of the poses with deep breathing to oxygenate and rejuvenate every cell in your body. You will learn to develop a connection to feeling your body while working honestly at your physical and emotional edges. Forrest Yoga is an inspiring practice that cultivates strength, flexibility (of both body and mind!) and awareness with the purpose to heal, grow and deepen your relationship to your authentic self.

Gyrokinesis Series - All Levels

All - GYROKINESIS® exercises allow one to work on the entire body through seven natural elements of spinal movement: forward, backward, left side, right side, left twist, right twist and circular, as well as all other joint articulation. This approach systematically and gently works the joints and muscles through rhythmic and undulating movements. These movements stimulate the body's internal organs while different corresponding breathing patterns are integrated along with the movements. Fluidity is the key. Postures are not held for long periods of time. Instead, postures are smoothly and harmoniously connected through the use of breath, making exercises appear and feel more like a dance and swimming than like traditional yoga.

Pa Kua Martial Arts - All Levels

All - This highly effective and adaptive art is most recognizable by its circular form of combat. It use the opponent's momentum against him and through a thorough study of self defense and sparring techniques creates a versatile and flexible martial artist. It stresses personal development and focuses on the individual needs and abilities of the student. The level of difficulty grows with the student, meaning you can start at any fitness level. Each hour long class includes cardio, flexibility and coordination development, and martial techniques working the entire body.

Hatha Fusion Yoga - All Levels

All - The root of this class will be from the traditional lineage of Ashtanga Yoga. We will move our bodies "in a flow" incorporating the breath toward a more meditative awareness. This class will be playful, and suitable for all levels, especially beginners. The student will cultivate greater awareness, strength and flexibility.

Pranayama, Asana & Meditation - All Levels

This class is for the student who wants to dive deeper into their yoga practice through the traditional Hatha yoga system. You will begin each class by learning specific pranayamas (breathing techniques) that are designed to help calm the mind and deepen the asana experience through a meditative, yet vigorous physical practice. The focus will be on building core strength, flexibility, and connection between breath and yoga postures. At the end of the class we will explore meditation through sound, visual, guided and silent meditations. Prior yoga experience is suggested . Previous experience with pranayama or meditation is not required.
